Off-topic: the Marshmallow Test

I was talking to someone in the store the other day who hadn't heard of the marshmallow test. So here you go. All of our preschoolers would be better off if, instead of worrying about teaching ABCs and numbers to 2, 3 and 4 year olds, we better prepared them to pass the marshmallow test.

We've just received a ton of baby girls' clothing, all new with tags, so they've got their own special bin here in the store. The vast majority is Carter's, and there are few things from the Gap, Gymboree, and Old Navy as well. Dresses, rompers, onesie gift packs, you name it. Most things are priced at $4-6. Books, books, and more books!

I don't know about you all but we couldn't get through the winter without a bunch of books. So it's fortunate that we've been getting in loads of great books lately: board books, lift-the-flaps, touch-and-feel, eat-and-chew, Sandra Boynton, Eric Carle, Bob Shea & Lane Smith, vehicles, dinosaurs, knights, animals, books that double as toys, bath books, puppet books, you name it. I even added another bookcase in order to make room for them all. The vast majority are $5 or less and 50%-75% off retail.

Tons of new second hand toys & books now in store

It happens every year around this time: parents clear out the old stuff to make way for the latest gifts. We're swimming in new (used) toys and books, so come check them out!  A keyboard, a xylophone, a soft bowling set, Viewmaster, an especially cute jack-in-the-box, wooden magnetic doll sets (3!), board and bath books, a couple of Mudpuppy jigsaw puzzles, nice wood pull and push toys, and, yes, lots, more!

Hours for New Year's Weekend
