Books for Father's Day
We have an unspoken law in our house, which I'll call the "don't spend my money on a big dumb gift for me" rule - it applies equally to birthdays, Mother's Day, and anniversaries. But books? You can never have enough books!
We've got some excellent choices for Father's Day:
Driving Daddy by Hope Vestergaard
(board book)
List: $6.99 / Our price: $2.99
Baby rides on Daddy's shoulders, "steering" him around the neighborhood to familiar places while Mom provides the play-by-play. [ Info ]
Every Friday By Dan Yaccarino
(hardcover)
List: $16.95 / Our price: $4.99
A simple story about a tradition that a little boy and his dad have of taking a weekly walk around town. "Every Friday is a 2007 New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Book of the Year and a 2008 Bank Street - Best Children's Book of the Year."
When Papa Comes Home Tonight by Eileen Spinelli
(hardcover)
List: $16.99 / Our price: $4.99
A sweet and sentimental rhyming book for ages 1 and up. (We also have When Mama Comes Home Tonight by the same author.) [ Info ]
Oh, Daddy! by Bob Shea
(hardcover)
List: $16.99 / Our price: $6.99
The favorite in our household is a short, funny book about a goofball dad who does things in the most silly way imagineable, prompting his tot to correct him by squealing, "Oh, Daddy!" This one gives my 3 year old a belly laugh. We only have one of these left so get here quick!
