Monk's Trunk sells gently used, high-quality children's clothes (sizes 0 to 8), as well as used books, toys, baby gear, and new toys. Prices for our clothing average about 75% off of retail costs.
We are temporarily based out of a residential brownstone in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, with plans to open a storefront in 2011. This low overhead means we can keep out prices low and still focus on high-quality merchandise.

Monk's Trunk is owned an operated by Carrie McLaren, who, in her diminishing spare time, runs HawthorneStreet.com (a neighborhood blog for Prospect Lefferts Gardens), Adult Ed (a "useless lectures" series in Park Slope), and Monkeywire. She's the editor/author of Ad Nauseam: A Survivor's Guide to American Consumer Culture. She lives with her husband and two-year-old son at Monk's Trunks HQ, and hopes to find a working business partner in the future.
