Monk's Trunk sells gently used, high-quality children's clothes (sizes 0 to 8), as well as used books, toys, baby gear, and new toys.
We are temporarily based out of a residential brownstone in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. This low overhead means we can keep out prices low and still focus on high-quality merchandise.

Monk's Trunk was founded in 2010 by Carrie McLaren, who lives upstairs from the store with her husband and preschooler. In a previous life, Carrie edited and co-wrote Ad Nauseam: A Survivor's Guide to American Consumer Culture. Elyssa Pierre LeBris was the first-ever Monk's Trunk employee, starting in 2010, and joined as a full-time partner in 2012. She lives in Crown Heights with her husband.
